Returned to the club during the 2004/05 season after a brief spell with Gateshead. He is considered by many to be one of the best keepers in the North East and was voted the Northern League Player of the Year and also the Club’s Player of the Year in the Championship winning 2006/7 season.

Lee rejoined the club last season from Morpeth Town. A former Bay player he spent some years at Ashington. A strong defender, good in the air and possesses a mighty throw in.

Mark rejoined the club from Morpeth Town during 2004/5 season. A member of the FA Vase winning squad but missed out on the day due to a broken ankle. A quick hard tackling defender.

Returned to the club in the summer after spending a year in Australia. Signed from Ashington the previous season, Darren is a strong tackling defender, good organiser and is useful in the air. He adds strength to the defence.

Paul signed last season from Newcastle Blue Star. He is an attacking midfielder who has quickly become a favourite with the fans. Scored the goal of the season in the FA Vase semi final and was voted runner up for Northern League Player of the Year award. Formerly with York City he has also played for Bedlington Terriers

Damon signed for the club from Horden C.W. near the end of the 2005/06 season. A busy midfield player with good ball distribution. He has also been at Newcastle United and Bishop Auckland.

Phil was a prolific goalscorer in the Championship winning side of 2006/2007 having previously spent two seasons at Chester-le-Street. He returned to Hillheads in October after spells with York City, Newcastle Blue Star and Blyth Spartans. At 6 foot 5 inches defenders find him a very difficult player to handle.

Andy rejoined the club from West Allotment in October. He was a member of the FA Vase winning squad in 2002 but suffered an injury that kept him out of the team at Villa Park.

Another member of the Academy who has stepped up to senior football. He has always been a natural striker and has a great future in the game. Lee set a unique record during 2004/5, becoming the only player ever to have scored in the FA Cup, FA Vase and FA Youth Cup in the same season. Last season’s top scorer, he became only the 6th player to score 100 goals for the club. Lee won the Northern League’s Young Player of the Year for the second time last season. Has had trials at Newcastle Utd, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday.

Another very promising youngster who has progressed through the reserves. Made his debut against Bedlington last season and has made several appearances from the substitutes’ bench.

Paul joined the club last season from Jarrow Roofing, where he had been their top scorer on many occasions. Paul had a tremendous first season scoring more than 30 goals, forming a great partnership with Lee Kerr.

Steve returned to the club after a spell at Chester-le-Street Town, coming in as coach. A proven goalscorer he played professionally for Maidstone United, and was also a member of Bay’s Vase winning team supplying the cross for Ian Chandlers’ winner.

Ian is in his third spell at the club, and is third in the all time goal scoring records with over 150 to his name. Played professionally at Barnsley and Aldershot, and locally at Blyth Spartans, Durham City, Bishop Auckland and a brief spell at Jarrow Roofing before returning to Whitley Bay to take over the hot seat. He will always be remembered as the scorer of the goal that brought the FA Vase to Hillheads. Ian was awarded the Northern League Manager of the Year title for 2006/7 after guiding the team to the League Championship.
