11/05/2010 - FA Vase Team 2002 Match Preview

Tonight Hillheads hosts a charity game between the current FA Vase holders and our first Vase winning team from 2002. The match is to raise awareness and funds for Bay player Mark Taylor who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Tonight's kick off is 7pm, but both BBC and Tyne Tees are presenting their sports section live from Hillheads tonight, Tyne Tees are due on air at 6.10 with the BBC at 6.45. so please get along as early as possible The 2002 team are managed by Mark himself and include the current management team of Chandler & Cuggy. Also confirmed are John Caffrey, Ian Dixon, Steve Locker, Chris Neil, Andy Dugdale, Dan Anderson, Dave Carr, Andy Bowes, Kev Walton, Gary Middleton, Robbie Livermore, Andy Hay and Mark Walmsley. The match will be referreed by Michael Oliver and some ex pro's are also going to join the 2002 team. As well as the game tonight there will be a raffle and also the chance to take penalties against Tom Kindley before the game in return for a donation to Mark's fund. The match is being recorded by WBFC-TV and will be available to buy in due course with all proceeds going to Mark's fund, if we can get the technology sorted we are also hoping to have commentary from Radio Newcastle's commentary team of Barry Hindson and Paul Dixon available on the DVD also. Lets get as many folk at Hillheads as possible tonight to raise funds for a cause close to everyone's heart at the club. Howay the Bay!
